China Google Logo

Google is a worldwide phenomenon and has numerous nicknames. In Chinese societies, Google is commonly referred to as GuGe which literally means “the song of millet”. However, the official GuGe logo has been criticized due to the inclusion of the term “GuGe” as it does not represent the technological advancements of Google. In contrast, Google added this nickname to depict the agricultural lands of China.

This Chinese language Google logo is an unofficial logo designed with similar pattern as the official Google logo. The same colors of blue, yellow, green and red are used with the name Google added below the symbols also in blue color. Even though, official Google Doodles have attempted to customize Chinese cultural holidays and customs as part of their identity, this unofficial logo has more potential in being locally accepted than any Google Doodle. The use of Chinese scripture with separate parts allows each character to symbolize separate but related meaning.

This Chinese GuGe logo design stays true to the basic theme of original Google logo as changing it would make the logo not been able the convey main message. Despite the lack of Chinese cultural symbols and icons such as dragons, this logo still looks elegant due to the simplicity of the design. Nonetheless, the simple and elegant design of this unofficial Chinese Google logo is potentially more marketable than other Google Doodles and alterations in the official Google logo.
