Collage and Assemblage
Collage and assemblage logo designs are varied and mostly avoided as they mostly involve issues of copyright infringement. Collage logos include assemblage of different icons and materials of various sources and forms combined to create a whole new logo design. As logos are the market face of businesses and companies, they are best designed from scratch to retain novelty and originality of the design instead of a collection of pieces of patterns designed by someone else. For instance, collage logos may include clippings from newspapers, photographs and other similar cutouts.
As collage and assemblage logos use existing works, the final designs are termed as derivative works and it has a complex and separate copyright system. For instance, some of redefined and modified copyright laws strictly restrict any public use of the created collage logo mainly due to financial interests. Even though collage logos may have great visual appeal and the potential to draw new customers, certain laws may restrict its usage terms.
Collage and assemblage logos can also be used to create 3D shapes and bright colors with different textures and Photoshop effects. These logos are the most difficult to design as they include so many disparate elements and the successful cohesion of all of them requires skill. Collage logo designs can have the traditional copy and paste feel or can also depict the contemporary flash incorporation style. Most flash collage logos are based on the combination of vector and pixels. Most collage and assemblage logos are displayed through flash-based portfolios.

Collage is a very different form of art and does not involve sketching. This is a very creative type of art in which pieces of paper are joined together to form a design. These pieces of paper should not be plain but also should not be carrying very bold designs. A design which is too loud in terms of the color scheme or image is not appropriate. These factors make it hard for this piece of paper to merge with the others. The pieces which are merged should form a design and not a haphazard combination. The selection of images should be done accordingly.
Collage Options
There is not a prescribed way in which collage work can be done. In other words there is nothing prescribed in any artistic activity. Any thing which is artistic has to be creative and there is nothing prescribed in any creative activity. How ever collage work follows certain principles, the work should not be too loud and irritating for the eyes. A terminology which is used in collage work is called design mergers. In this form, the design is made by using pieces of paper from different designs.
Assemblage
The hardest activity which requires the highest level of concentration in a collage activity is assemblage. When the appropriate pieces are selected, then the joining of these pieces in the right manner is very important. Assemblage is adapted from the work assemble. The assembling of the required collage work is termed as assemblage. Assemblage is a team work as a lot of design perspectives have to be considered, hence multiple opinions prove advantageous.
