Managing Printing Errors Using The Preflighting Process Review

An image has to be checked several times before it goes through the printing process. This procedure of checking is termed as PREFLIGHTING. In this process all the areas relating to digital printouts are checked. For instance, a common error that is highlighted by this process is the usage of incorrect fonts. Using the wrong font spoils the overall output of the image. The size as well as the font citation should be according to the requirements. Two types of font files are required for a printing process to take place in a safe manner. The fist type is the screen font. This is the appearance of text on the screen of the monitor. It is very different from printing font. Printing font is the appearance of text on papers, banners or the printing medium. Checking the image quality is also very important. The image quality has two main classifications, low resolution and high resolution. Low resolution images carry a resolution of less than 300 DPI (Dots per Inch). On the other hand high resolution images have a resolution of more than or equal to 300 DPI. Secondly the correct color mode also has to be selected. For instance the RGB color mode produces a burred image at times while the CMYK mode produces a very clear image on a large area. Trapping is an important part of the printing process. It refers to the merging borders of two different colors. The amount of trapping varies from one image to the other according to the colors used.
