Pixel logos are based on file formats such as .gif, .bmp, .tif and .jpg. Logos in these formats are called pixel logo because these formats consist of tightly packed pixels which in itself comprise of solid colors. From a distance, pixels appear as if solid colors and work well for creating optical illusions for websites. Pixel logos work great for online marketing campaigns; however, they tend to lose their visual appeal in traditional forms of printing. Company Logos have to be printed on business cards, letterheads etc, which makes pixel logos less preferable for advertising.
